“Mindful Holidays Survival Kit”?

I am delighted to share with you these five short meditations that you can use through the coming holiday season (and the whole year) to help you lower your STRESS level and raise your sense of CALM and ENJOYMENT.
Whether you’re someone who has never tried mindfulness practices or you’re a seasoned meditator, you will find that using any or all of these audio recordings for as little as 5 minutes a day will help you:
– handle the stress of the season with more ease,
– enjoy the good moments more fully,
– sleep better, and
– get through the holiday season with your sanity in tact!
Here is a quick description of each meditation:
- Three Mindful Breaths – this one is as easy as it sounds. I guide you through three mindful breaths as a way to let go of stress right where you are, whether it’s in the looooonnngg security check line at the airport or dealing with kids who have had waaaay too much sugar!
- Simply Stopping – with this meditation, you practice the Art of the Pause, noting when you feel tension building and taking a mindful moment to release it…before you scream, or whatever you do with stress.
- Giving Yourself Compassion for a Difficult Situation – for some of us, holidays can present us with “difficult situations” with kids, parents, in-laws, etc. So often, we end up being unduly harsh on ourselves for how we have dealt with them. In this meditation, you will learn how to drop self-criticism and replace it with self-compassion instead. This can turn a difficult holiday experience into one of self-nurturing, self-forgiveness, and, yes, self-compassion.
- Wishing Ourselves and Others Well – I don’t know about you, but sometimes, I can find it to be really challenging to keep goodwill in my heart during the season of “goodwill for all”. That’s exactly why I practice this meditation…a lot! My guess is, you might find it to be useful also.
- Visualization For Deep Sleep – after an exhausting day of holiday travel, holiday shopping, heck, holiday anything, you just might need a good night’s sleep! Put your earbuds in and give yourself ten minutes of gentle unwinding from all of that stress and drift off into a wonderful, deep sleep.
